Chipotle Tri-tip Barbecue Roast


Use good grade 2-3 lb. tri-tip (Manhattan Meats)

1/2 cup Kikkomanís soy sauce

1/2 cup olive oil

1/2 sweet onion coarse chop

1 large can crushed tomatoes

4 cloves garlic

1 can chipotle peppers

Black pepper


Marinate tri-tip in all of the above overnight or longer


Flash cook on barbecue with rotisserie on 4-5 minutes each side, then cut heat to medium and cook 15 minutes a side or until meat reaches 165 degrees.

Let sit for 7 minutes to finish cooking.

Cut against the grain.


Serve with parbroiled Uncle Benís rice and veggies
